Ipratropium Br 0.5 mg, fenoterol HBr 1.25 mg
Indications/Uses
Acute treatment & prevention of symptoms in COPD w/ reversible bronchospasm eg, bronchial asthma & chronic bronchitis w/ or w/o emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr Treatment of attacks 1-2 unit dose. Intermittent & long-term treatment 1 unit dose qid. 
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fenoterol HBr or atropine-like substances. Tachyarrhythmia & hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Special Precautions
Insufficiently controlled DM, recent MI, severe organic heart or vascular disorders, hyperthyroidism. Prolonged use. Concomitant use w/ β2-agonist, xanthine derivatives, steroids & diuretics. Monitor serum K levels. Patients w/ glaucoma should protect their eyes. Pregnancy (1st trimester) & lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Fine tremor of skeletal muscles, nervousness, palpitations, tachycardia, dizziness or headache. Dryness of the mouth, throat irritation, or allergic reactions, hypokalemia & cough.
Drug Interactions
Effects enhanced by other β-adrenergics, anticholinergics, xanthine derivatives & corticosteroids. Reduced efficacy w/ β-blockers.
